Update

It looks like the nettop I would like to get is due to come out in 7 weeks or so. Until then, there probably won’t be much posting as I am home and awake about 4 1/2 hours a day and some of that time has got to be used for cleaning, answering email and reading other people’s blogs – all of which are higher priortiy items than writing my own, particularly since I spend the remainder of my day writing. I think it’s going acceptably well, but I still have very little idea what I am doing and my boss, being very nice, may simply be concealing her deep dissatisfaction with me. On the toher hand, it’s a time limited contract, so it’s really no skin off their noe one way or the other.  Thirty years of this – I dunno. But I am not miserable and it’s more interesting than I expected. It’s enough from day to day, I have a great view out of the office window, and I am not finding the commute anywhere near as difficult as I thought it might be.

My sister is here as of yesterday. We ran her ragged her first day in town taking her to the fanciest mineral bad we could find. I went in the sauna twice, and as it wasn’t crowded last night, it didn’t bother me too much. I also had a huge town that made covering up a bit easier. I feel a bit hung over today althought I only drank apfelschorle last night. Tomorrow we have another long day – our Schwarzwald adventure, and today, after some more planning, it’s off to the Herbstfest in Heidelberg, so this is going to have to be it for now.

Tired.

The new job seems ok so far. Not great, but ok, but it involves getting up at o-dark-thirty and i am going to hang some wash and put out my clothers for tomorrow and try to get to bed withing the next hour or so.
